"When my wife and I decided to incorporate a pool into the landscaping of our newly remodeled home in Riverview, we engaged the services of AquaTech to furnish and install the pool and related equipment.

Thanks to Brad Carney and his professional staff, the work went smoothly and was completed on time and within budget. We could not be more pleased with the finished product and would recommend AquaTech to other customers without reservation."

  • Choosing a Pool

When choosing a type of pool, there are many variables to consider that may seem sonfusing. To help you make an informed decision, we’ve provided the benefits and considerations of each so you can choose the one that’s right for you.

Please Select a Pool Type to learn more:

This type of pool uses traditional reinforced walls with a vinyl liner. Rectangular pools are most common, but interesting varieties of L-Shaped, free form, and other shapes are also available. Manufacturers have created new liner patterns and colors, so there are many options pools owners can choose to enhance their poolscapes. Optional features add to the price, but they are often worth the extra cost for the aesthetic benefits.

    Benefits:
      • Economical

    Considerations:
      • Easily punctured
      • Algae can penetrate
      • Liner has to be replaced periodically

Concrete and Gunite are considered the most elaborate of all pool categories. Instead of a liner, these are permanent, these are permanent, reinforced pools of concrete and plaster. Excavation is necessary. A wide variety of special options such as waterfalls, custom steps, and beach entries can be easily added to compliment these high quality pools. Concrete and Gunite pools are often seen in commercial applications; many private homeowners, however, also choose gunite pools for their flexibility since they can be built in any shape. Gunite pool owners can also choose from many plaster finishes or pebble applications, allowing for maximum creativity. These pools are of the highest quality so the price tag is higher.

    Benefits:
      • Durable, long-lasting
      • Creativity with shapes
      • Creativity with decoration
        (tiles, paints, pebbles)

    Considerations:
      • Rough to the touch
      • Has to be re-surfaced periodically
      • Cost

"One Piece" Fiberglass or Composite Pools are manufactured in factories utilizing quality control standards and transported to the job site. The composition of the product consists of a durable non-porous interior finish usually reinforced on the back with a composite material—primarily fiber-glass reinforced plastic. Most manufacturers offer many varieties of sizes and shapes. With newer technologies for color, fiberglass pools offer a wide range of options for the simple to sophisticated buyer. Many options are available that give fiberglass pools a permanent aesthetic appeal.

    Benefits:
      • Creativity with colors
      • Algae can be swept away
      • Smooth to the touch
      • Least amount of maintenance needed
      • Durable, long-lasting

    Considerations:
      • Limited by mold design
